Coimbatore: Due to the increase in tourist arrivals in Valparai, Coimbatore district, the Highways Department is widening various roads to allow uninterrupted traffic.

Similarly, cottages are being constructed at various places in the Valparai for the convenience of tourists. Soil stones and various building debris dug at construction sites are being dumped on the roadside outside Valparai. Most of the widening work of the Cinchona Road from Valparai to Chinnakallar is completed.

Building waste from the construction of building site at Valparai Kamaraj Nagar is being dumped by tipper trucks on the side of the main road along the Koolangal River on Valparai Chinnakallar Road. The building waste dumped in this manner covers half of the roads in some places. Building debris dumped on the ramp near the Sirukundra Tea Estate Intersection occupies the area up to the middle of the road.
