Cases booked under sections IPC 201, IPC 211 and IPC 404 against Dhanapal and Ramesh in Nilgiris Kodanad murder-heist

Police have booked the two accused who were arrested recently in the Kodanad estate case under three sections and lodged them in custody.

The Nilgiris: The police have booked Dhanapal and Ramesh under three sections who were arrested recently in the Kodanad murder-heist case.

Dhanapal, Kanakaraj's brother Dhanapal were produced before the Ooty District Sessions Court in connection with the Kodanad murder-robbery case. 

The duo was arrested by the special team in Salem, booked under sections IPC 201 for disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender, IPC 211 for with intent to cause injury to any person, institutes or causes to be instituted any criminal proceeding against that person, or falsely charges any person with having committed an offence, knowing that there is no just or lawful ground for such proceeding or charge against that person and under IPC 404 for dishonest misappropriation of property possessed by deceased person at the time of his death. They are lodged in Gudalur prison.

The investigating officer, Kothagiri inspector Velmurugan, had filed a petition the day before yesterday seeking custody of the accused in the District sessions court in Ooty.

Kanagaraj’s brother was produced at the court before sessions judge Sanjay Baba. R Dhanapal has appeared before the Udhagai District Sessions Court. District Sessions Court Judge Sanjay Baba granted five days custody to interrogate Dhanapal.
