TNAU collaborates with Israel to develop agriculture and various other sectors

The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in collaboration with Israel conducted a study to develop various sectors and farming using nanotechnology and students to be provided opportunities to study Ph.D. in Israel.



Coimbatore: The TNAU Vice-Chancellor, N. Kumar stated to the press that a study was carried out in collaboration with Israel to develop several sectors.

A consultative meeting in the context of this subject was conducted with the South Indian Israeli Advisor Jonathan Zadka.



Speaking of the innovations in the agriculture sector, ideas such as nanotechnology, environmental research, remote sensor drone, and water resources technology were discussed in the meeting with a view to moving forward with technological advancement. India has been following their technology for 20 years.

A prototype would be developed to treat the wastewater and reuse it for agriculture or households. The already existing model at a school in Ooty made by the Israeli companies would be inspected and expanded. The drones, which are currently operated manually will be developed to work without the need for manual assistance.

The Vice-Chancellor stated that the TNAU has been doing well in terms of nanotechnology and agriculture at a national level. The teachers here will be taught about the new technology and students will be provided opportunities to pursue their doctorate in Israel. The VC stated that this would strengthen the relationship between India and Israel. An agreement to enhance agriculture was made by the Indian Prime Minister and members from Israel.



The press conference was attended by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor N. Kumar, Israeli advisor Jonathan Zadka and analysts.
