Bank employee from Singanallur dupes woman by promising marriage

A 38-year-old woman filed a complaint with the All Women Police Station in Coimbatore against a 26-year-old bank employee who cheated her into a false marriage.


Coimbatore: The All Women Police, East Division booked a 26-year-old man under 4 sections who duped a 38-year-old woman into a false marriage promise.

A 38-year-old woman lodged a complaint at the All Women Police station, East division here in the city that she was cheated by making false promises of marriage. Mouneeswaran, 26 works at a bank in Singanallur. He developed a friendship with a 38-year-old woman who holds an account in the same bank.

Mouneeswaran developed a relationship with her under the pretext of marriage, despite the woman refusing due to the age difference. Mouneeswaran persuaded her into the relationship stating he doesn’t bother about their age difference. He swindled money from the woman for a brief period and stopped communicating with her after a while.

When questioned, Mouneeswaran stated the age difference and tried to get rid of her. The woman lodged a complaint with the All women police station in the city. The Police have booked Mouneeswaran under 4 sections and an investigation is on.

The complainant is a single woman, unmarried who lost her IT job during the pandemic. She had been living separately in Saravanampatti, away from her parents due to familial issues. She works at a private organization in order to repay her loan. The woman who had an account at a bank in Singanallur developed a relationship with Mouneeswaran during her visits to the bank
