Trio attempts to en-cash a pseudo cheque at private bank caught red-handed; arrested; two more involved in the crime on the run

The Bank Manager who was suspicious of the trio and the cheque, contacted the payer company for a confirmation, which revealed the three were attempting to defraud money.


Coimbatore: Three people who attempted to en-cash a pseudo cheque at private bank were caught red-handed and are behind bars. Search is on for two more persons involved in the crime who are on the run.

Two people arrived yesterday at the ICICI Bank, Cheran Plaza Branch to deposit a cheque of ₹.1.34 crore issued by Asleep Wellanas Pvt Ltd., headquartered in Delhi. Branch Manager Prasath Ramakrishnan, who became suspicious of the transaction, contacted the payer company for confirmation.

The company denied having issued a cheque to the mentioned persons and confirmed that the cheque was fake. The manager informed the Race Course police of the incident. The police reached the location and investigated the duo.

Senthil Kumar (45), son of Jyoti of Peelamedu, Sri Harihara Kumar (45), son of Saminathan of Ramanathapuram and Sudish (27), son of Ramalingam of Crosscut Road, were arrested for attempting to en-cash fake cheque. Parthiban and Raj also known as Raj Bharath Krishnan who are reportedly involved in the crime are on the run. A search is on for the two.
