Padmashri P R Krishnakumar, MD of AVP group passes away in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Padmashri. P R Krishnakumar (68), Managing Director of AVP group and Founder of the AVP Research foundation, a non-profit research organization promoting research in the Indian medicine system of Ayurveda, passed away today in Coimbatore.







Coimbatore: Padmashri. P R Krishnakumar (68), Managing Director of AVP group and Founder of the AVP Research foundation, a non-profit research organization promoting research in the Indian medicine system of Ayurveda, passed away today in Coimbatore. 

According to reports, he was admitted to a private hospital here to treat post amputation complications. During the course of treatment, he contracted Covid-19 and was also treated for the same. Not responding to treatment, he passed away, this evening. 

P.R. Krishnakumar who is also the Chancellor of the Avinashilingam University was awarded the fourth highest civilian honour of the nation, Padma Shri in 2009, for his contributions to Ayurveda and with the National Dhanwanthari Ayurveda Award in 2016.
