Suganya (30), a graduate from Veerapandi in Tirupur, was married to Selvaraj from Kinathukadavu in 2015. Selvaraj's mother Ranganayaki had allegedly harassed Suganya and her family by demanding for 15 sovereigns of jewelry as Suganya had brought home only 10 sovereigns of gold. When Suganya and her family couldn't do so, she was driven out of her home.

Suganya filed a petition at the Tirupur District Collector's Office today requesting her husband's wedding with another woman be stopped and she be reunited with her husband as no action was taken after lodging a police complaint.
