The Nilgiris: The district on The Nilgiris on Tuesday reported a small spike of just 14 new COVID-19 cases and 1 related fatality, taking the total number of infections to 1,667 and death toll to 11.

The number of active cases stood at 317 today.

The details of the single death today are:

A 65 Years old Male from Nilgiris having COVID 19 RTPCR Positivity on 31.08.2020 with SHTN admitted on 31.08.2020 at 10.50 AM at GHQH, Ooty with complaints of difficulty in breathing for 3 days, died on 01.09.2020 at 07.10 PM due to COVID-19 Pneumonia / ARDS.

In some positive news, the district discharged 29 recovered patients today, taking the tally of recoveries to 1,339.
