Coimbatore: PWD officials informed that the Aliyar dam will reach full capacity and fill up soon.

Incessant rainfall in Valparai and its surrounding areas have increased the water flow from the water catchment areas of Upper Aliyar, Navamalai and Monkey into the Aliyar dam.



The heavy rains that lashed last week increased the water level in the dam from 68 feet to 99 feet. Water inflow to the dam has been 2071 cft and outflow has been 53 cft.

Under the circumstances, PWD officials informed that if the rains continue to intensify. then the dam will reach its full capacity of 120 feet in a few days.
