The Coimbatore Bar Association staged a protest demanding the dissolution of the panel set up by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs in order to amend criminal laws.

Coimbatore Bar Association president Nandakumar led the protest, demanding the immediate reopening of the lower courts, which have been closed for four months. A large number of people, including administrators of bar associations, took part in the protest in front of the Coimbatore Combined Court Gate.
