In a meeting with Islamic organisation representatives before the festival of Bakrid, the Corporation Deputy Commissioner advised on the measures to be followed.
It was announced that animals for meat should be slaughtered only in the areas stipulated by the Corporation and not in other unapproved areas. It was stressed that slaughtering calves for meat must be avoided. She also insisted that the guidelines issued by the Corporation for the festival must be followed.
Travelling outdoors excessively and gathering in groups must be avoided during the festival of Bakrid, added the Corporation Deputy Commissioner.
