Outstation bus services delayed at Omni Bus Stand, Gandhipuram

A chaotic situation at the omni bus stand, Gandhipuram caused a couple of hours delay in the departure of outstation buses. Even after segregating the bus stands at various places around the city, the traffic at the bus stands gets unruly during the weekends.

The omni bus stand at Gandhipuram, is bombarded with people who are on the way back to their work places, after the weekend. The 2nd phase of the Gandhipuram bridge work and the call taxi's and autos to drop people at the bus stands cripple the traffic around the bus stand. At most of the times, the traffic halt goes haywire, even in the presence of traffic cops.

Yesterday, the Gandhipuram omni bus stand faced a severe traffic crisis from 8:00 pm onwards. The buses were struck in the traffic for hours together leaving the passengers in grief. 'More traffic police should be deployed around the bus station during weekends to remove the traffic knots', said a passenger.
