Prayer hall closed for public peace

In the wake of complaint given by Hindu Munnani Member at Avinashi Police Station The All Christian People Organisation, a Christian Prayer Hall was closed stating that it was in functioning in a private building at Thekkalur.

The State General Secretary of the organisation states that the prayer hall was functioning there for past seven years and the Tahasildar ordered to close it without any legal enquiry or procedures.

But the Tahasildar has contradicted the statement by saying that the prayer hall was started just a few months ago and was closed by exercising the magisterial powers under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code to close the prayer hall to prevent any disturbance to public tranquillity.

Now the question is whether closing the prayer hall will maintain the public peace or letting it open.
