Flag March Held in Periyanaickenpalayam

A flag march involving over 300 personnel from the Border Security Force, Maharashtra Police, and Tamil Nadu Police was conducted in Periyanaickenpalayam area here to ensure voters can cast their votes without fear.


Coimbatore: Ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections scheduled for April 23, a flag march was conducted in areas under the Periyanaickenpalayam Police Station limits to instill confidence among the public and ensure fear-free voting.



As of March 17, 2026, paramilitary forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF), have begun conducting flag marches in Coimbatore. The march saw the participation of more than 300 personnel, including members of the Border Security Force (BSF), Maharashtra State Police, Tamil Nadu Police, and Home Guards.



The procession commenced from Kasthuripalayam and was flagged off by ASP Selvi Inba and Periyanaickenpalayam Deputy Superintendent of Police Ponnusamy.



Accompanied by band performances from students of United College and AVP School, the march proceeded through key routes including Five Corner Junction, Akhila Bakery, Periyanaickenpalayam Police Station, and Periyanaickenpalayam Junction, before concluding at KR Hospital.



Police officials including Inspector Rajesh Kannan (Periyanaickenpalayam), Inspector Chitra (Thudiyalur), and All Women Police Station Inspector Palaniammal, along with sub-inspectors and other personnel, took part in the march.

The initiative aimed to reinforce public confidence and encourage maximum voter turnout in a safe and secure environment.
