AJK College of Arts and Science organized the Dr. R. S. Lal Mohan Memorial Yoga Grading Competition and Yogasana Sports Championship 2026 on August 9. The event doubled as a selection platform for state and national-level championships, attracting over 500 enthusiastic student participants from various educational institutions across Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: AJK College of Arts and Science, an autonomous institution with A+ accreditation from NAAC, hosted the Scientist Dr. R. S. Lal Mohan Memorial Yoga Grading Competition and Yogasana Sports Championship 2026 on August 9, 2026, at its campus premises.

The event was organized in collaboration with the Coimbatore (Suburban) District Yoga Sports Association, Om Sri Yogalayaa Coimbatore, and Thaimai Trust Coimbatore. It also served as the selection event for the 39th State-Level and 51st National-Level Sports Yoga Championship 2026.
Dr. Madhumitha Balasundaram, Senior Embryologist at Women's Center by Motherhood Hospital Coimbatore, delivered the special address at the championship. Prof. Dr. S. Raju, Principal of AJK College of Arts and Science, presided over the function and addressed the gathering.
Abhijeet Ajeet Kumar, Assistant Executive Director of AJK Group of Institutions, felicitated the event with his presence and support. Yogachariyar R. Sivakumar, Founder of Om Sri Yogalayaa Coimbatore, delivered the introduction address, setting the tone for the day's competitions.

The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 500 students representing various schools and colleges across the region. The competitors showcased their yogasana skills and demonstrated exceptional talent in different categories of the grading competition.
Winners were recognized for their outstanding performance and dedication to the ancient practice of yoga. Merit certificates and shields were presented to acknowledge their achievements and encourage continued excellence in yogasana sports.
