Coimbatore Corporation Mayor K Ranganayaki Ramachandran and Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja inspected water supply pipeline connection works under Pillur scheme at Vilankurichi junction in the eastern zone. Additional inspections were conducted at Vellalore fertilizer depot and northern zone water supply areas to ensure systematic distribution.
Coimbatore: Water supply pipeline connection works under the Pillur scheme are progressing intensively across Coimbatore Corporation. As part of monitoring these works, Mayor K Ranganayaki Ramachandran and Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja conducted a field inspection at Vilankurichi junction in the eastern zone today (12.08.2026).
At Vilankurichi junction area under Ward No. 9 of the eastern zone, the Mayor and Commissioner personally inspected the water supply pipeline connection works being carried out under the Pillur scheme. Instructions were given to concerned officials to ensure systematic water supply distribution to the public in that area.

Subsequently, the Corporation Commissioner visited the Vellalore fertilizer depot campus under Ward No. 99 of the southern zone and conducted an inspection. At the newly installed automatic vehicle barrier area, he personally verified whether vehicles are being granted entry through QR SCANNER. He also inspected the ongoing nursery construction works at the Vellalore fertilizer depot campus and instructed concerned officials to complete the works expeditiously.

Later, the Corporation Commissioner visited Sriram Nagar, Sai Nagar, and Vigneshwara Nagar areas under Ward No. 14 of the northern zone and conducted an inspection regarding water supply distribution. He ordered concerned officials to install BOOSTER PUMP to increase water supply pressure in the pipeline area established under Pillur Water Supply Scheme III in these localities.

During these inspections, Corporation Chief Engineer Vijayakumar, North Zone Chairperson V Kathirvel, Deputy Chief Engineer Ezhil (Engineering), Assistant Commissioners Dakshinamoorthy, Maheshkanagaraj (Engineering), Assistant Executive Engineers Ilangovan (Engineering), Kanagaraj (Engineering), Sathyamoorthy (Engineering), Councillors Naveenkumar, Chitra, Zonal Health Officer Andiappan, Assistant Engineers Farman Ali, Sandeepkumar, Health Inspectors Gerald Sathyapunithan, Balakumar, Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board Executive Engineer Pattan, and several other Corporation officials were present.
