Over 500 DMK functionaries, volunteers and alliance party members participated in a peace rally and floral tribute ceremony in Thudiyalur, Koundampalayam constituency, Coimbatore North district, to commemorate the 8th memorial day of Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Coimbatore: A peace rally and floral tribute ceremony was held in Thudiyalur, Koundampalayam Assembly constituency, Coimbatore North district, to commemorate the 8th memorial day of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK leader Dr Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi. Over 500 DMK functionaries, volunteers and alliance party members participated in the event.
DMK has been organizing floral tribute ceremonies and peace rallies across Tamil Nadu to mark the 8th memorial day of Kalaignar Karunanidhi, who passed away on August 7, 2018. As part of this, the Coimbatore North district organized memorial events and peace rallies in Thondamuthur, Mettupalayam and Koundampalayam constituencies.

Coimbatore North district DMK District Secretary Thondamuthur A. Ravi presided over the floral tribute and peace rally held in Thudiyalur, which falls under the Koundampalayam constituency. District Deputy Secretary Ashokbabu Arukkutti and Executive Committee member T.P. Subramanian were present at the event.
First, floral tributes were paid to the portrait of Kalaignar Karunanidhi, which was decorated at the Thudiyalur DMK office. Following this, a peace rally was conducted from the Thudiyalur DMK office to the Thudiyalur bus stand.
The event was attended by Zonal Secretaries Arulkumar, Rajasekaran, Madhiyalagan, Ponnusamy, Siravai Siva, Kathirvel, Vijayakumar, Union Secretaries Karthik, C.M.K. Kumar, Thamu and wing functionaries Thiyagu, Malathi, Ranganayaki, Chandran, Rokkimuthu among others.
Everyone paid floral tributes to the portrait of Kalaignar Karunanidhi, which was decorated at the bus stand. The event was attended by over 500 people including state and district functionaries, executive committee and general committee members, zonal, union, town, panchayat and ward secretaries, functionaries, district wing organizers, deputy organizers, panchayat presidents and vice-presidents, corporation councilors, wing functionaries, booth functionaries and party workers.
The arrangements for the event were made by Thudiyalur West Zonal Secretary Rajasekaran. DMK volunteers and alliance party members conducted a peaceful rally and paid their respects to their leader Kalaignar Karunanidhi at the event.
