District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar announced that family cardholders who haven't completed registration can utilize this opportunity. Currently 95.82 percent registration has been completed in the district.
Coimbatore: The Central Government has made fingerprint-based eKYC registration mandatory to verify Aadhaar details of Priority and Antyodaya Anna Yojana family cardholders under the National Food Security Act 2013. This process has been ongoing in Coimbatore district since October 2023.
As per current status, 95.82 percent of Priority family cards and 88.65 percent of non-Priority family cards in Coimbatore district have completed fingerprint registration. Special camps have been organized to complete registration for the remaining beneficiaries.
To achieve 100 percent eKYC registration, special camps will be conducted at all fair price shops across Coimbatore district on August 2, 2026. All family members of cardholders whose fingerprint registration is pending can visit their respective fair price shop or a nearby fair price shop to complete the registration.
As per Central Government directives, fingerprint-based verification has been made mandatory for all beneficiaries linked to electronic family cards. Instructions have been issued to ensure this process is carried out without any inconvenience to family members.
