The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) has launched searches at 41 locations across Tamil Nadu as part of its probe into alleged TASMAC irregularities, with four premises in Coimbatore, including a liquor manufacturing unit at Narasimmanaickenpalayam, coming under its scanner.
Coimbatore: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) on Wednesday launched simultaneous searches at 41 locations across Tamil Nadu in connection with the alleged TASMAC irregularities, with four locations in Coimbatore also coming under its scanner.
Among the premises searched was Shiva Distilleries Private Limited, a liquor manufacturing unit at Narasimmanaickenpalayam on Mettupalayam Road, where DVAC officials commenced their operation at around 7 a.m. Officials, who arrived in three vehicles, entered the factory premises and began examining documents, records and other materials as part of the investigation.
Simultaneous searches are also under way at Pollachi, Navakkarai and Peelamedu, according to sources, as part of the statewide operation.
The searches were continuing at the time of publishing, and further details from the investigating agency are awaited.
