Sri Ramakrishna Arts and Science College in Coimbatore's Nava India area held its student council inauguration ceremony on Tuesday. Office bearers were sworn in, including leaders and secretaries of 39 clubs. Rotary District Governor R.S. Maruthi delivered the special address at the event.
Coimbatore: Sri Ramakrishna Arts and Science College located in Nava India area of Coimbatore held its student council inauguration ceremony on Tuesday at the college auditorium. Dr. Sundar Ramakrishnan, Managing Trustee of S.N.R. Sons Charitable Trust, presided over the function.
Dr. P.L. Sivakumar, Principal and Secretary of the college, administered the oath of office to the student council members. R. Sangeeta, a third-year student from B.Com. C.A. department, was sworn in as Student Council President, while U. Hemasree, a third-year student from B.Sc Computer Science Cyber Security department, took charge as Vice President. K. Kaviya, a second-year student from B.Sc IT department, assumed office as Secretary, and Rudra Sharma, a second-year BCA student, became Joint Secretary. Additionally, student leaders and secretaries of 39 clubs functioning in the college were also sworn in.
Rotarian R.S. Maruthi, an alumnus of the college and current Rotary District Governor of Coimbatore, attended as the chief guest and delivered the special address. Speaking at the event, he said: "When I studied in this college, we had limited exposure to the outside world. Job opportunities were scarce. There was no technological advancement. But now, when I see this college, it has grown tremendously. The educational environment here has been enhanced manifold."
"There are 39 clubs operating in this college matching your talents. You must utilize them properly to develop yourselves. We need to fully leverage technologies like AI to reach even greater heights. Leadership is filled with countless challenges. When you graduate and step outside, you should approach every challenge as an opportunity for your growth and move forward," he emphasized.
Continuing his address, he said, "Whatever work we do, we must be someone who does it completely. We should choose a job that matches our education and succeed in it. We have only one life, so learn to make the most of the opportunities that come your way and live happily. We should progress with self-confidence in the spirit of self-reliance, without depending on anyone."
"If we want change in our lives, we must make numerous efforts. This college will fully support you in reaching your life's biggest goals. Use the opportunities correctly. Success is certain," he added.
Earlier, R. Geetha, Head of B.Com. C.A. department, welcomed the gathering. At the conclusion, N. Sumathi, Head of Information Technology department, delivered the vote of thanks. Students and faculty members participated in large numbers at this function.
