Coimbatore: A special awareness camp for Census 2027 was organized today (17.07.2026) at the Coimbatore Corporation headquarters premises. The camp, arranged by the Corporation, saw councilors, officials and employees who attended the council meeting register their personal details.

The Self Enumeration phase, which began today on 17.07.2026, will continue until July 31. During this phase, citizens will be asked 33 questions covering building and house details, water facilities, electricity, toilets, digital facilities and other basic amenities. Census 2027 has been designed to enable people to upload their responses themselves.
From August 1 to August 31, census officials and staff will conduct door-to-door visits. When residents provide their SEID (Self Enumeration ID), officials can help complete any missing information. This will ensure all Census-related data is successfully recorded.
Principal Census Officer and Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS stated, "Every household must be included. Our Census, Our Development. Your information will contribute to the nation's progress. I request full cooperation from residents in areas under the Corporation's jurisdiction for this exercise."
