The Amaravathi dam, which has a total storage capacity of 90 feet, currently has a water level of 45.8 feet. The water level is gradually increasing as continuous inflow is being received from the catchment areas of the dam. With the southwest monsoon season having commenced, both dams are receiving continuous water inflow due to rainfall in the Western Ghats region. As a result, the gradually rising water levels in the dams are providing hope to farmers and the general public.
Both dams serve as crucial sources of drinking water and agricultural irrigation for Tirupur and surrounding areas. With the continuous water inflow, irrigation facilities are expected to be excellent this year.
