Coimbatore Corporation Launches Free NEET Coaching for Government School Students

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran and MP Dr. Ganapathi P. Rajkumar inaugurated free NEET coaching classes for corporation school students at Siddapudur Municipal Higher Secondary School.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation has initiated free NEET coaching classes for government school students in collaboration with a private coaching center. The inaugural event took place at the Siddapudur Municipal Higher Secondary School in the central zone of Coimbatore.

Coimbatore Member of Parliament Dr. Ganapathi P. Rajkumar officially launched the program in the presence of Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran, IAS, and several corporation council members.

Speaking to reporters at the event, Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran stated that the coaching classes would be conducted twice a week without disrupting regular classes. He mentioned that students from various corporation schools interested in joining these classes would be brought to this school. The corporation would bear the transportation and food expenses for these students.

Addressing concerns about recent heavy rains, the Commissioner noted that only two flyovers in Coimbatore - Avinashi and Kaliswaran flyovers - were significantly affected by waterlogging. He assured that the water had been drained, and traffic flow restored. He added that measures were being taken to prevent future waterlogging issues.

The Commissioner also informed that 30 people affected by the rains were accommodated in a single location in Avarampalaiyam area. The corporation has provided them with food and accommodation. He mentioned that steps were being taken to immediately replace the documents and books lost by these individuals due to the rains.

Prabhakaran concluded by stating that the Coimbatore Corporation was working at full capacity to prevent water stagnation across the city during heavy rains.
