HMS Submits Petition to District Collector Demanding Diwali Bonus and Other Benefits for Workers

HMS Construction and Unorganized Workers' Forum in Coimbatore submitted a petition to the District Collector, demanding a ₹7000 Diwali bonus and various other benefits for construction and unorganized sector workers.


Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS) Construction and Unorganized Workers' Forum submitted a petition to the Coimbatore District Collector, emphasizing various demands for the welfare of workers in the construction and unorganized sectors.

The primary demand highlighted in the petition is the provision of a ₹7000 Diwali bonus for construction and unorganized sector workers. Additionally, the petition calls for an increase in subsidies without gender discrimination, disbursement of pensions by the 5th of every month, and granting pensions to female workers at the age of 55.



Another key demand included in the petition is a subsidy of 3 lakh rupees for auto workers to purchase autorickshaws. HMS officials stated that all these demands are aimed at improving the livelihood of workers in these sectors.

Led by Manoharan, the Deputy Chairman of the Tamil Nadu HMS Construction and Unorganized Workers' Forum, more than 20 officials presented the petition to the District Collector. They urged the authorities to take appropriate action to fulfill these welfare-oriented demands for the workers.



Through this petition, HMS has put forward crucial demands to elevate the standard of living for workers in the construction and unorganized sectors. The HMS officials expressed hope that the government would consider these demands and take necessary steps for the welfare of the workers.
