Three Arrested for Forcibly Taking Young Man to Brothel in Mettupalayam

An auto driver and two women were arrested in Mettupalayam for forcibly taking a 30-year-old passenger to a brothel. The incident has caused a significant stir in the area.


Coimbatore: Police have arrested three individuals, including an auto driver, for forcibly taking a young man to a brothel in Mettupalayam.

A 30-year-old man from Sirumugai Alangombu area was returning from Coimbatore yesterday. After alighting at the Mettupalayam bus stand, he decided to take an auto rickshaw home due to continuous rain. The auto driver, identified as Sanjeev Gandhi (33), took the young man to two women in the Shanti Nagar area of Mettupalayam.

At the location, the two women behaved inappropriately with the young man. He immediately fled from the spot and filed a complaint at the Mettupalayam police station. Based on the complaint, the police launched an investigation.

During the investigation, the police arrested a 39-year-old woman from Karamadai area, a 40-year-old woman from Thimmampalayam area, and the auto driver Sanjeev Gandhi. The 39-year-old woman involved in sex work was sent to the Coimbatore District Women's Welfare Home. The other two were remanded to the Coimbatore Central Prison.

This incident of forcibly taking an auto passenger to a brothel has caused a significant stir in the Mettupalayam area.
