Coimbatore: Former minister and current Thondamuthur MLA S.P. Velumani celebrated Ayudha Puja at his legislative assembly member's office and the AIADMK district headquarters in Coimbatore on Wednesday, October 11.

Ayudha Puja, traditionally observed on the ninth day of Navaratri, is a festival where people worship tools and instruments used in their daily lives and professions. On this day, it is customary for the public to decorate and venerate the equipment they use at home and in their workplaces.

At the Thondamuthur MLA office and the AIADMK district head office, Velumani conducted the Ayudha Puja ceremonies. The puja was performed with a deity's picture, along with offerings of fruits and fried gram.

The event saw active participation from numerous AIADMK administrators and party workers, who gathered to be part of the traditional celebration. This annual ritual is seen as a way to seek blessings for prosperity and success in one's endeavors.

Velumani, who previously served as a minister in the AIADMK government, continues to be an influential figure in Coimbatore's political landscape. His celebration of Ayudha Puja at both his official MLA office and the party office underscores the cultural significance of the festival in Tamil Nadu's political sphere.
