Southern Railway to Operate Special Trains Between Tambaram and Coimbatore During Festival Season

Southern Railway announces special trains between Tambaram and Coimbatore to manage increased passenger traffic during Puja and Diwali festivals from October to December 2024. Advance reservations are now open.


Coimbatore: The Southern Railway has announced the operation of special trains between Tambaram and Coimbatore to handle the extra rush of passengers during the upcoming Puja and Diwali festival season. These weekly special trains will run from October to December 2024, with advance reservations now open for passengers.

The train number 06184 will depart from Tambaram on Fridays, starting from October 11, 2024, and continue on October 18, 25, November 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2024. The return train, number 06185, will leave Coimbatore on Sundays, beginning October 13, 2024, and run on October 20, 27, November 3, 10, 17, 24, and December 1, 2024.

These special trains will operate via Villupuram, Mayiladuturai, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindigul, and Pollachi. The train composition includes AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, General Second Class, and Luggage-cum-Brake Van coaches.

In addition to the Tambaram-Coimbatore route, Southern Railway has also announced special trains between Ernakulam Junction and Mangaluru Junction to manage the Puja festival rush.

Passengers are advised to check the detailed timings and make their reservations in advance to ensure a comfortable journey during the festive season. This initiative by Southern Railway aims to provide additional travel options and ease the pressure on regular train services during the peak festival period.
