Government Employees Hold Evening Sit-in Protest in Front of Coimbatore Collectorate

Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association staged an evening sit-in protest at the Coimbatore Collector's office on October 8, demanding the abolition of the New Pension Scheme and reinstatement of the Old Pension Scheme.

Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association conducted an evening sit-in protest at the Coimbatore Collector's office premises on Tuesday, October 8. The demonstration was led by the district president Jaganathan.

The protesters put forward several demands, with their primary focus on the pension schemes. They called for the abandonment of the New Pension Scheme and the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme for all government employees.

Participants raised slogans highlighting their various demands during the protest. The sit-in demonstration aimed to draw attention to the concerns of government employees and push for changes in their service conditions.

The choice of the Collector's office as the protest venue was strategic, as it is a key administrative center in the district. The evening timing of the protest allowed government employees to participate without disrupting their regular work hours.
