Southern Railway Announces Special Weekly Trains Between Tambaram and Coimbatore for Festival Season

Southern Railway will operate special weekly trains between Tambaram and Coimbatore from October 11 to December 1, 2024, to manage the increased passenger traffic during the festival season.


Coimbatore: The Southern Railway has announced the operation of special weekly trains between Tambaram and Coimbatore to cater to the increased passenger traffic during the festival season. These special trains will run on Fridays and Saturdays from October 11 to December 1, 2024.

According to the announcement made on October 8, the train from Tambaram to Coimbatore (Train No. 06184) will depart from Tambaram railway station at 6:00 PM on Fridays and reach Coimbatore at 8:10 AM on Saturdays.

The return train from Coimbatore to Tambaram (Train No. 06185) will depart from Coimbatore at 11:45 PM on Sundays and arrive at Tambaram at 12:30 PM on Mondays.

These special trains will make stops at several stations along the route, including Chengalpattu, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Panruti, Thirupadirippuliyur, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruchirapalli, Dindigul, and Pollachi.

The introduction of these special trains is expected to provide relief to passengers traveling between Chennai and Coimbatore during the festive season, which typically sees a surge in travel demand.
