Coimbatore: The Rotaract Club of Government College of Technology (GCT) Coimbatore celebrated its 12th charter day on October 5, 2024, with a day-long series of social service initiatives and fellowship events across the city. The club, founded in 2012, organized 12 events to commemorate this special occasion.

The day began at 6:00 am with "Epoch," a quiz session that engaged participants in intellectual discourse. Following this, the Rotaractors conducted "Moments of Joy" at a senior citizen home in Thenkarai, where they cooked and served food to the elderly residents, spending quality time with them.

The morning continued with "Comfort Steps," an initiative where the club members donated slippers to people in need. The Rotaractors then moved on to "EquipEd," distributing essential stationery items to students at the Panchayat Union Middle School in Vadavalli.

As the day progressed, the club turned its attention to public health and safety. At Gandhipuram Bus Stand, they installed first aid kits on buses, ensuring that commuters have access to basic medical supplies in case of emergencies.

The afternoon saw a series of events that focused on both fellowship and community service. "Inspiration" honored senior Rotaractors, while "Muthirai" helped elderly individuals learn to sign their names. The club members then visited Grace Happy Home Trust in Kovilapalayam for "Thithippu," where they celebrated with the children through cake cutting and fun activities.

The evening was dedicated to initiatives at the Government Hospital. "Mazhalai" provided mosquito screens for newborn babies, while "Aravanaippu" distributed blankets to people around the hospital. The social service aspect of the day concluded with "Annam," where food packets were given to the public near the hospital.

The charter day celebration culminated in "Cheers," an event that brought together past board members of the club to reminisce and share joyful memories with old friends. This final gathering served as a fitting end to a day filled with service and camaraderie.

Through these 12 diverse events, the Rotaract Club of GCT Coimbatore demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, making their 12th charter day a truly meaningful celebration.
