Deadline Extended for Firecracker License Applications in Coimbatore

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati announces extension of deadline for temporary firecracker shop license applications to October 19, 2024, for rural areas. Applications must be submitted online through the official portal.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore district administration has extended the deadline for applying for temporary firecracker shop licenses in rural areas of the district, excluding corporation limits. District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati made this announcement on October 7, 2024, in light of the upcoming Diwali festival scheduled for October 31, 2024.

Initially, applications were invited from September 7 to October 6, 2024, through e-Seva centers under the Explosives Rules, 2008. However, following a press release (No. 1585) issued by the Principal Secretary/Commissioner of Revenue Administration in Chennai on October 3, 2024, the deadline has been extended to October 19, 2024.

The extension applies only to rural areas of Coimbatore district. Applicants must submit their applications exclusively through the official website https://www.tnesevai.tn.gov.in. The administration emphasizes that applications will be accepted only through this online portal and must comply with the conditions specified in the Explosives Rules, 2008, Rule 84, as well as previously published guidelines.

Collector Pati stressed that applications received after the new deadline of October 19, 2024, will not be considered under any circumstances. Applicants can download their license or rejection notice through the same online portal once their application has been processed.

The district administration has issued a stern warning that legal action will be taken against individuals found selling firecrackers without proper permission or license. This measure aims to ensure public safety and compliance with regulations during the festive season.

Residents and potential applicants are advised to take note of this extension and submit their applications in a timely manner to avoid any last-minute issues.
