Mother and Child Safe After Delivery in 108 Ambulance Near Pollachi

A pregnant woman from Jalathur near Pollachi gave birth in a 108 ambulance while en route to the hospital. Both mother and newborn son are reported to be in good health.


Coimbatore: In a dramatic turn of events, a woman from Jalathur near Pollachi successfully gave birth to a healthy baby boy in a 108 ambulance while being rushed to the hospital. The incident occurred today morning when Gayathri, wife of Balachandran from Jalathur, suddenly went into labor at home.

Family members immediately called for a 108 ambulance. Driver Thangavel and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Manikandan quickly arrived at Gayathri's residence in Jalathur. They began transporting her to the Pollachi District Government Headquarters Hospital.

During the journey, Gayathri's labor pains intensified. EMT Manikandan provided emergency medical care inside the ambulance. Within moments, Gayathri delivered a healthy baby boy. The mother and newborn were subsequently admitted to the Pollachi Government Hospital, where they are reported to be doing well.

The public praised driver Thangavel and EMT Manikandan for their timely action and skilled assistance in safely delivering the baby and saving both mother and child. Their quick thinking and professional response in this emergency situation have been widely appreciated by the local community.
