Coimbatore's Marudhamalai Temple Collects Record ₹1.38 Crore on Vaikasi Visakam

Devotees donated ₹1.38 crore at Coimbatore's Marudhamalai Murugan Temple during the Vaikasi Visakam festival. Over 1.5 lakh pilgrims visited the hilltop shrine to seek blessings during the auspicious occasion, marking one of the temple's busiest days.

Coimbatore: Devotees offered a total of ₹1.38 crore at the Marudhamalai Murugan Temple in Coimbatore during the Vaikasi Visakam festival celebrations, temple authorities announced on Tuesday. The hillside temple, one of the prominent Murugan shrines in Tamil Nadu, witnessed an overwhelming response from devotees who thronged the premises to participate in the auspicious festival.

According to temple officials, more than 1.5 lakh devotees visited the temple throughout the day and night to offer their prayers. The Vaikasi Visakam festival, celebrated in the Tamil month of Vaikasi, is considered one of the most significant occasions for Lord Murugan devotees across the state.
The temple administration had made elaborate arrangements to manage the large influx of pilgrims. Special darshan queues were organized, and additional staff members were deployed to ensure smooth flow of devotees. Parking facilities were arranged at multiple locations around the temple premises to accommodate the vehicles of visiting pilgrims.

The offerings included cash donations at the hundi (donation box), special archana bookings, and various other religious services. The temple witnessed continuous poojas and special abhishekams throughout the day. Devotees queued up for hours to have darshan of the deity and participate in the traditional rituals.
Temple authorities expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the festival and thanked the devotees for their continued faith and generous contributions.

The collected funds will be utilized for temple maintenance, renovation works, and various welfare activities undertaken by the temple administration.
The Marudhamalai temple, situated atop a hill about 15 kilometers from Coimbatore city, is renowned for its scenic beauty and spiritual significance, attracting thousands of devotees regularly, with numbers swelling manifold during important festivals.
