Two Arrested for Illegal Liquor Sales Near Annur

Annur police arrested two individuals for illegally selling liquor at inflated prices in Pasur village. 154 liquor bottles were seized during the operation near Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: In a crackdown on illegal liquor sales, the Annur police arrested two individuals and seized 154 bottles of alcohol from their possession in Pasur village near Annur, Coimbatore district.

The police received information about unauthorized liquor sales occurring in private locations in the Pasur area near Annur. Acting on this tip, a team led by the Annur Police Inspector conducted a raid in the area.

During the search operation, the police discovered an illicit liquor sale operation in a private location. They apprehended two individuals involved in the illegal activity - Suresh from Pasur and Sadasivam from Erode.

The accused were allegedly selling liquor bottles at inflated prices, violating regulations. The police confiscated 154 bottles of alcohol from the duo during the raid.



Following their arrest, the Annur police registered a case against Suresh and Sadasivam. The accused were then produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of the local police to curb illegal liquor sales in the region, particularly those operating from unauthorized locations and selling at inflated prices.
