Youth Arrested for Making Reels in Front of Selvapuram Police Station in Coimbatore

A 22-year-old youth from Selvapuram, Coimbatore, was arrested on September 15 for posting videos on Instagram portraying himself as a rowdy and making reels in front of the police station, despite previous warnings.


Coimbatore: A 22-year-old youth from Selvapuram Housing Unit area in Coimbatore was arrested on September 15 for posting controversial videos on social media and making reels in front of the Selvapuram Police Station.



The accused, identified as Santhosh Kumar, had been posting videos on his Instagram account portraying himself as a rowdy. He had uploaded content that was deemed to incite violence, leading to a case being registered against him by the Selvapuram Police.

According to police sources, Santhosh Kumar had been repeatedly warned about his online behavior. However, he continued to post provocative content, including videos filmed in front of the Selvapuram Police Station.

The arrest came after multiple warnings were issued to the youth. Despite these cautions, Santhosh Kumar persisted in creating and uploading controversial reels and videos, which ultimately led to his arrest on September 15.

The incident serves as a reminder of the legal consequences that can arise from misuse of social media platforms and disregarding police warnings. Authorities have urged the public to use social media responsibly and refrain from posting content that could be interpreted as promoting violence or unlawful behavior.
