Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Inspects New Stormwater Drain Project Site in Ward 26

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS inspected the site for a new Rs 30 lakh stormwater drain project in Ward 26 of North Zone on September 14. He also reviewed water supply infrastructure in the area.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS conducted an inspection of Ward 26 in the North Zone on September 14. The primary focus of his visit was to assess the site for a new stormwater drain project and review existing water supply infrastructure.



The Commissioner first visited the area from Balaguru Garden to Ellaithotam in Peelamedu, where a new stormwater drain is set to be constructed. This project, estimated to cost Rs 30 lakh, will be funded from the Corporation's general fund. Prabhakaran personally inspected the proposed site to ensure proper implementation of the project.



Following this, the Commissioner proceeded to inspect the road leading to Vilankurichi. Here, he examined a valve chamber crucial for water distribution in the area. After assessing the situation, Prabhakaran instructed the concerned officials to adjust the chamber cover to be level with the road surface, ensuring smooth traffic flow and preventing potential accidents.

The inspection tour was accompanied by several officials and elected representatives. Assistant Commissioner Sridevi, Ward Councilors Chitra Velliangiri and Ambika Dhanapal were present. From the technical side, Assistant Engineer Ezhil, Assistant Town Planner Sathya, and Assistant Engineer Thirumoorthy participated. Zonal Health Officer Rajendran and other Corporation officials were also part of the inspection team.
