Coimbatore District Collector Warns of Cancellation for Unpaid Housing Board Allotments

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati announced that Tamil Nadu Housing Board allotments will be cancelled if beneficiaries fail to clear dues by September 30. The warning affects 1,777 allottees in various Coimbatore localities.

Coimbatore: District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati has issued a stern warning to beneficiaries of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) who have failed to pay their dues. In a press release on September 12, the Collector announced that housing and plot allotments would be cancelled if beneficiaries do not settle their accounts by September 30.

The announcement affects 1,777 allottees who have been allocated houses or plots in various areas under the Coimbatore Housing Unit of TNHB. These areas include Ganapathy, Vellakinaru, Periyanaickenpalayam, Veerkeralam, Kalappatti, and Mudhalipalayam. Despite the payment period having expired, these beneficiaries have not cleared their dues as per the board's regulations.

Collector Pati noted that the government has offered interest waiver concessions multiple times, yet the allottees have not come forward to pay the outstanding amounts. In light of this, he has urged all allottees to visit the Coimbatore Housing Unit office before September 30 with their original application, allotment order, and original receipts. They are required to clear their dues and obtain their sale deed.

The Collector emphasized that failure to clear the outstanding amounts will result in the cancellation of allotment orders without any prior notice. This move is aimed at ensuring compliance with TNHB regulations and recovering long-pending dues from beneficiaries who have not fulfilled their financial obligations despite multiple opportunities and concessions provided by the government.
