Tamil Nadu DGP Shankar Jiwal Addresses Grievances of West Zone Police Personnel in Coimbatore

Tamil Nadu DGP Shankar Jiwal held a grievance redressal meeting for West Zone police personnel in Coimbatore on August 31. The event saw 711 petitions submitted, primarily concerning transfer requests.



Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Director General of Police (DGP) Shankar Jiwal chaired a grievance redressal meeting for West Zone police personnel at the Armed Reserve Ground in Coimbatore on August 31. The event saw participation from police officers from Coimbatore city and district, Tiruppur city and district, as well as Nilgiris and Erode districts.



During the meeting, DGP Jiwal received numerous petitions from the police personnel, with a majority of them concerning transfer requests and other service-related matters. A total of 711 petitions were submitted at the event.

Addressing the gathering, Jiwal stated that the petitions would be processed based on priority. He explained that those who had previously submitted transfer requests would be given precedence, while new petitions would be considered based on seniority. The DGP assured that action on these petitions would be taken before the Pongal festival.

The meeting was attended by several high-ranking police officials including West Zone Inspector General of Police Senthil Kumar, Deputy Inspector General of Police Saravana Kumar, Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Karthikeyan, and Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan. Other senior police officers from the West Zone were also present at the event.

This grievance redressal initiative aims to address the concerns of police personnel in the region, potentially improving their work conditions and job satisfaction.
