Farmers can rent agricultural equipment through 'e-Vadagai' app, says Coimbatore District Collector

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati informed reporters about the 'e-Vadagai' app for renting farm equipment during a camp on agricultural machinery held at the Collectorate on Thursday.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Administration, in collaboration with the Agricultural Engineering Department, organized a district-level camp on the operation and maintenance of agricultural machinery and tools at the Collectorate on Thursday. Coimbatore Member of Parliament Ganapathi Rajkumar inaugurated the camp and toured the exhibition along with District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati.

Addressing reporters, Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati stated that the Agricultural Engineering Department had organized this exhibition to create awareness about various equipment and schemes to simplify farming. He mentioned that training on operating the equipment and their maintenance was being provided at the camp.

The Collector introduced the 'e-Vadagai' app, through which farmers can rent agricultural equipment. He added that training on using this application was also being provided at the camp. "This event has been organized as an awareness program to increase mechanization in order to boost agricultural production in Coimbatore," said Pati.

Kranthi Kumar Pati also touched upon other district matters, emphasizing the need for restaurants to serve safe food. He warned that prior permission from the police department is required to conduct competitions in public places, failing which action would be taken by the police.

The camp saw active participation from farmers and agricultural enthusiasts, who got hands-on experience with various modern farming equipment. Officials from the Agricultural Engineering Department were present to explain the features and benefits of different machinery, aiming to encourage more farmers to adopt mechanized farming practices.
