Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Inspects Development Projects in Coimbatore's West and North Zones

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS inspected various development projects in the city's west and north zones on August 23, 2023, directing officials to complete works swiftly and with quality.


Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS conducted an inspection of ongoing development projects in the west and north zones of Coimbatore Corporation on August 23, 2023. During the visit, he instructed officials to complete the works expeditiously and maintain high quality standards.





In the western zone, the Commissioner inspected the construction of a public toilet at R.S. Puram, D.B. Road in Ward 72, being built under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) at a cost of Rs. 5.30 lakh.





He also visited Ward 45's Sai Baba Colony, where additional classrooms and a yoga training center are being constructed at the Corporation High School in Kuppagounamputhur area at a cost of Rs. 30 lakh from the general fund.





The inspection tour continued to Ward 37's Marudamalai 160060, Marudapuram area, where additional classrooms are being built at the Corporation Primary School with a budget of Rs. 62 lakh from the general fund.



At Vedapatti, Nagarajapuram, the Commissioner reviewed the construction of a check dam at Narasimhapathi Lake under the AMRUT scheme, with an estimated cost of Rs. 1.26 crore.



Prior to these visits, Commissioner Prabhakaran examined the removal of water hyacinth from Krishnampathy Lake in the Veerkeralam area of Ward 74 in the western zone, urging officials to expedite the cleaning process.







In the northern zone, the Commissioner inspected the Underground Sewerage System (UGSS) works in Maniyakarampalayam area of Ward 19. He also reviewed the construction of a health center in Maniyakarampalayam, being built at a cost of Rs. 1.57 crore under the NUHM fund.





The tour included an inspection of UGSS works in Chinnameduppalayam, Om Shakthi Nagar area of Ward 4, and the construction of a 250-meter storm water drain in Chinnvedampatti, Janata Nagar area of Ward 11, with an estimated cost of Rs. 30 lakh.

The inspection was attended by West Zone Chairperson K.A. Deivayani Tamilmarai, Council members Karthik Selvaraj, Babysutha, Mutham, Ramamoorthy, Kathirvelusamy, Assistant Commissioners Sandhya (West) and Sridevi (North), Assistant Engineers Savitha and Ezhil, Assistant Town Planner Sathya, and various other corporation officials and health inspectors.
