Kinathukadavu Panchayat Accused of Favoring Real Estate Developers Over Residents in Water Connection Issue

Ward Councillor Sateeshkumar alleges Kinathukadavu Panchayat is prioritizing water connections for uninhabited areas over residential needs in Solavampalayam. He demands action from district administration.

Coimbatore: In a controversial move, the Kinathukadavu Panchayat in Coimbatore district has been accused of favoring real estate developers over residents in the allocation of water connections. The issue has come to light in the Solavampalayam Panchayat area, which falls under the Kinathukadavu constituency.

Ward 1 Councillor Sateeshkumar has raised concerns about the panchayat's actions, stating that officials have dug pits for water tanks without any prior notice to the residents. This has caused distress among the local population, particularly in the nearby Anbu Nagar area, where residents have been repeatedly petitioning the panchayat office for drinking water connections.

Sateeshkumar claims that he has personally approached the Panchayat President multiple times regarding the water needs of the residents. However, he alleges that instead of addressing the concerns of the existing residential areas, the panchayat is attempting to provide water connections to uninhabited areas, seemingly to benefit real estate developers.

The councillor has now appealed to the district administration to intervene and take necessary action. He emphasizes the need to prioritize the water requirements of current residents over potential future developments.

This situation has highlighted the ongoing struggle for basic amenities in rural areas and raised questions about the equitable distribution of resources. As the matter gains attention, residents of Solavampalayam are hopeful that their long-standing demand for proper water connections will be addressed promptly.
