Dengue Fever Awareness Training for Doctors at Pollachi Government Hospital

Continuous medical training on dengue fever awareness was provided to doctors at Pollachi District Government Headquarters Hospital under the leadership of Dr. Marimuthu, the Residential Medical Officer.


Coimbatore: A comprehensive dengue fever awareness training program was conducted for doctors at the Pollachi District Government Headquarters Hospital. The session was led by Dr. Marimuthu, the Residential Medical Officer of the hospital.



The event saw participation from various medical professionals, including Dr. Sakthivel, President of the Indian Medical Association's Pollachi chapter, and Dr. Soundararajan, the Secretary. Several private practitioners, doctors from government primary health centers, medical staff from Pollachi District Government Headquarters Hospital, trainee doctors, and postgraduate students also attended the program.

The training primarily focused on tackling the anticipated rise in dengue fever cases during the upcoming monsoon season. Key topics covered included preventive measures to control the spread of dengue, proper treatment protocols to avoid fatalities and dehydration risks, early-stage treatment methods, and guidelines for identifying cases that require referral to larger hospitals for continued care.



Experts emphasized the importance of early detection and appropriate management of dengue cases, especially for patients with pre-existing conditions. The session also highlighted the crucial role of primary healthcare providers in the initial stages of dengue treatment and the need for timely referrals to specialized care when necessary.

This training initiative aims to equip local medical professionals with the latest knowledge and skills to effectively combat the potential surge in dengue cases, ensuring better patient outcomes and reducing the overall impact of the disease in the Pollachi region.
