Mayor R. Ranganayaki Leads Public Grievance Redressal Meeting at Coimbatore Corporation

Mayor R. Ranganayaki chaired a public grievance redressal meeting at the Coimbatore Corporation main office on August 20, 2024. 65 petitions were received from citizens across all zones, addressing various civic issues.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation held its public grievance redressal meeting on August 20, 2024, at the main office under the leadership of Mayor R. Ranganayaki. The meeting was attended by Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS and Deputy Mayor R Vetriselvan.



During the meeting, 65 petitions were submitted by citizens from various parts of the city. The petitions covered a wide range of issues including requests for birth and death certificates, road facilities, street lighting, water supply, underground drainage, professional tax, property tax, vacant land tax, new water connections, name changes, and concerns related to healthcare, sanitation, and education.

The breakdown of petitions received from different zones was as follows: 7 from the East zone, 3 from the West zone, 10 from the North zone, 10 from the South zone, 22 from the Central zone, and 13 from the main office, totaling 65 petitions.

Mayor R. Ranganayaki, upon receiving these petitions, instructed the concerned Zonal Assistant Commissioners, engineers, and officials to take immediate and appropriate action on the issues raised.

The meeting was attended by several key officials including Deputy Commissioner K. Sivakumar, City Health Officer (in-charge) Dr. K. Boopathi, Town Planning Officer Kumar, and Assistant Commissioners Senthilkumaran (Central), Sridevi (North), Muthusamy (East), Sandhya (West), Ilangovan (South, in-charge), Mohanasundari (Administration), and Usharani (Accounts). Various assistant engineers, engineers, all corporation officials, and members of the public were also present at the meeting.
