Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi Demands Land Survey for Tribal Patta Lands in Pollachi

Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi urges authorities to conduct land surveys for patta lands granted to tribal people in Puravipalaiyam, Pollachi, three years ago. The party submitted a petition to the Sub-Collector, highlighting the delay in the survey process.

Coimbatore: Members of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) have demanded that authorities conduct land surveys for patta lands granted to tribal people in Puravipalaiyam village near Pollachi. The demand comes three years after the government issued house site pattas to 27 tribal families in the area.

Led by VCK's regional deputy secretary Prabhu, a group of tribal people submitted a petition to Sub-Collector Catherine Saranya in Pollachi on Tuesday. The petitioners stated that despite the pattas being issued in 2021, land surveys have not been conducted to date.

The VCK members emphasized that they have repeatedly complained to the Tahsildar, Village Administrative Officer, and Panchayat President regarding the delay in land surveys. However, no action has been taken so far. They urged the Sub-Collector to instruct the concerned officials to carry out the land surveys immediately.

The delay in conducting land surveys has left the tribal families unable to utilize their allocated land effectively. The VCK has warned that if the authorities fail to address this issue promptly, they will be forced to intensify their protests to ensure justice for the tribal community in Puravipalaiyam.
