Karpagam Nursing College Hosts Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme in Coimbatore

Karpagam Nursing College organized an Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme on August 16, 2024, as part of the Anti-Ragging Awareness Week. Over 300 BSc Nursing students participated in the event, gaining insights on creating a ragging-free campus environment.



Coimbatore: Karpagam Nursing College organized an Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme on August 16, 2024, as part of the Anti-Ragging Awareness Week observed from August 12 to 18 across India. The event, supported by Dr. R. Vasanthakumar, Chairman and Managing Trustee, and K. Murugaiah, CEO of Karpagam Group of Institutions, aimed to promote ragging-free campuses.

The programme commenced with a prayer song by the college choir group, followed by a welcome address from Prof. Sutha, Principal of Karpagam Nursing College.





Saravanan, SBCID sub-inspector of police from Coimbatore district, delivered the keynote address, sharing valuable insights and experiences on the importance of a ragging-free environment.



Dr. P. Tamilarasi, Dean of Student Affairs at Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, emphasized the significance of open communication among students. Mohamed, Sub-inspector of police from Chettipalayam Police Station, Coimbatore, highlighted the importance of quality and safety for nursing students.



Athipandiyan, Public Relations Officer of Karpagam Group of Institutions, addressed the students with inspiring words. N. Ilakkiya, Associate Professor in the Department of Mental Health Nursing, proposed the vote of thanks.

During the event, students took a pledge to work together in creating a ragging-free campus where everyone feels welcome, respected, and supported.



More than 300 BSc Nursing students from Karpagam Nursing College participated in this awareness programme.

The Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, reinforcing the commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive educational environment.
