Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT) campus was abuzz with excitement and nostalgia as more than 160 alumni from the Class of 1999 gathered to celebrate their Silver Jubilee Reunion on July 27, 2024. The event, marked by emotional reunions and joyous celebrations, saw the alumni, accompanied by their families, return to their alma mater after 25 years.

The day-long celebration commenced with a heartfelt tribute to the batch's former professors, setting a tone of reverence for the institution that shaped their careers. A group photograph captured the moment, preserving the memory of this significant milestone.

In a display of gratitude and commitment to their alma mater, the alumni collectively made a substantial donation towards the construction of a new wellness center for the college. This philanthropic gesture highlighted the strong bond between the alumni and their institution, even after a quarter-century.

The reunion's entertainment segment kicked off with a lively performance by the Dramatic Club. The highlight was a spirited dance routine by the "young and naughty boys," which evoked laughter and transported the audience back to their carefree college days.

The emotional crescendo of the day came with a touching music show by CIT99 Alumni. Their soulful performance struck a chord with the audience, bringing many to tears and reinforcing the deep connections forged during their college years.

The celebrations culminated in a grand Gala dinner at Le Meridian. The evening provided a perfect backdrop for the alumni to continue their conversations, share updates about their lives, and strengthen their bonds well into the night.

This Silver Jubilee Reunion of the CIT Class of 1999 was not just a celebration of past achievements but also a testament to the enduring spirit of friendship and community among the alumni. It showcased how the values instilled during their time at CIT continue to influence their lives, inspiring them to give back to their alma mater and stay connected with their peers.
