Palakkad Railway Division Enhances Security with Advanced Solar-Powered Cameras

Palakkad Railway Division deploys 10 high-tech solar-powered cameras with intelligent detection systems in vulnerable areas to boost surveillance and security measures.

Coimbatore: The Palakkad Railway Division has taken a significant step towards enhancing security in remote areas by procuring 10 advanced solar-powered cameras. This initiative, directed by Arun Kumar Chaturvedi, the Divisional Railway Manager of Palakkad, aims to strengthen surveillance in strategically identified vulnerable locations, including bridges and areas prone to criminal activity.

These state-of-the-art portable and wireless cameras are equipped with an intelligent detection system, offering a comprehensive array of features for superior security monitoring. The cameras boast high-definition audio and video recording capabilities, ensuring exceptional playback quality. A two-way audio intercom system, complete with a built-in speaker and microphone featuring echo cancellation, facilitates clear communication.

To ensure round-the-clock surveillance, the cameras are fitted with night vision functionality, enhanced by array LEDs for sharp visibility in low-light conditions. The intelligent detection system enables human detection-based recording and push notifications, ensuring prompt alerts to security personnel.

The cameras offer extensive storage options, supporting both SD card and cloud storage integration. Their wide-angle capabilities include a horizontal pan of 350 degrees and a vertical tilt of 90 degrees, providing comprehensive surveillance coverage. For added convenience, remote viewing is facilitated through a mobile app, allowing authorized personnel to access the feed from any location.

The Palakkad Railway Division will evaluate the efficacy of these initial installations to guide the procurement of additional cameras. This strategic initiative is expected to significantly enhance safety and security measures throughout the division, particularly in areas that were previously challenging to monitor effectively.
