Copra Sales at Anamalai Regulated Market Fetch Rs 14.10 Lakh

On August 6, the Anamalai Regulated Market conducted its regular Tuesday copra auction. 64 farmers from the Anamalai region brought 415 sacks of copra for sale, fetching a total of Rs 14.10 lakh.


Coimbatore: The Anamalai Regulated Market witnessed brisk copra sales on Tuesday (August 6), with 64 farmers from the Anamalai region participating in the auction. The market, which conducts copra auctions every Tuesday and Thursday, saw a total of 415 sacks of copra brought for sale.

The auction resulted in a total sale of 186.75 quintals of copra, fetching Rs 14.10 lakh. The first-grade copra, comprising 192 sacks, fetched a maximum price of Rs 9,502 per quintal. The second-grade copra, totaling 223 sacks, was sold at a maximum price of Rs 8,159 per quintal.

This successful auction at the Anamalai Regulated Market demonstrates the continuing demand for copra and provides a stable market for local coconut farmers. The regulated market system ensures fair prices and transparent transactions, benefiting both farmers and buyers in the agricultural sector.
