Coimbatore: A tragic accident occurred near Mettupalayam in Coimbatore district on July 8, when a police vehicle coming from Ooty collided with a motorcycle. The incident resulted in two young men sustaining serious injuries and the motorcycle catching fire.

The collision took place on the Mettupalayam-Ooty road, involving a police vehicle that was reportedly returning from duty in Ooty. The impact of the crash was severe enough to cause the motorcycle to catch fire, completely destroying the vehicle.



The two injured youths, who were riding the motorcycle at the time of the accident, were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. Their current condition remains unknown.

Following the incident, the Mettupalayam police arrived at the scene and have initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. They are examining factors such as road conditions, visibility, and the speed of both vehicles involved in the collision.
