Coimbatore: In a heartwarming gesture, the Karamadai Municipality honored Palani, a sanitation worker who retired after 38 years of service, with a government car procession on July 4. The unique celebration marked a fitting tribute to his decades-long dedication to public cleanliness.

Palani, who retired on June 30, was the guest of honor at a felicitation ceremony held at the Municipal Office. The event, presided over by Chairperson Usha Venkatesh, saw officials and colleagues gathering to express their gratitude for Palani's long-standing service to the community.



During the ceremony, Palani was garlanded and presented with his retirement benefits. The highlight of the event came when he was escorted to his home in a government car, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of traditional drums and music. This procession through the streets of Karamadai drew attention and admiration from local residents, turning into a memorable spectacle.
